
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His first role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in Magnum. (1980-1988) and he was nominated five times for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in an Drama Series. He was awarded the award in 1985. Since 2010 Selleck has co-starred as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine television series made based on the Robert B. Parker novels Selleck played Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town chief of police, which began in 2005. Selleck also played the role as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). He has also appeared in more than 50 other television and film parts since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was a frequent television actor, playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming and innocent lover, in The Rockford Files; and A.J., casino owner. Cooper at Las Vegas. Cooper also played the lead role in the television western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
